Commenting on their appointments, Olivier Altmann said, “I am very honoured to have been nominated as President of Eurobest 2006. Like most creatives, I've always considered this festival as the Cannes Lions of Europe. The quality of submissions is always high and the members of the jury represent the most respected talents of Europe. We are now at a turning point in our industry. It's hard to imagine a better moment for sharing points of view with so many great minds from diverse backgrounds."

and Fred Koblinger, who will lead the inaugural Direct jury commented ““the more advertisers focus on influencing behaviour (rather than on image only) the more they are looking for efficient creative dialogue strategies. About the Jury Presidents

TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor, Radio and Integrated Jury President:

Olivier Altmann

Chairman of the Worldwide Creative Board/Co-Chairman & Chief Creative Officer

Publicis Conseil

Paris France

Olivier Altmann (42), Chairman of the Worldwide Creative Board/Co-Chairman & Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Conseil, Paris, France will head two juries: TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor and Radio jury as well as the inaugural Integrated jury.

In 1987, Olivier Altmann started at FCB Paris as a copywriter and had the fortune of winning his first Cannes Lion without even really understanding how. Following that, he moved to Australie, a smaller creative agency, before joining BDDP (now TBWA) in 1992.

In 1998, he founded a new agency in Paris with two partners and the support of BDDP, namely BDDP & Fils. In 1999, BDDP & Fils was voted Best Young Advertising Agency, and then Best Creative Agency in France three years running (2000, 2001, 2002). In 2001, Olivier was elected President of the French Art Directors Club for two years running.

On the lookout for a new creative challenge in 2004, Olivier decided to take up the offer from Publicis to become Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of the Paris flagship agency, Publicis Conseil. In January 2006, Olivier was promoted to Chairman of the Publicis worldwide creative board.

During almost 20 years in advertising, Olivier has produced greatly recognised work for a wide range of clients, such as Mercedes, BMW, Renault, Nestlé, Epson, Caisse d’Epargne, MacDonald’s, French Post, Manix, Sara Lee, Samsung, Sagem, Club Med, SFR, Wonderbra, and has won numerous awards including 27 Cannes Lions, Clio, Eurobest (two Grand Prix), D&AD and awards from the French Art Directors’ Club, to name but a few.

He has sat on the juries of many award shows including Eurobest, Clio, D&AD and Cannes Lions. But above all, Olivier believes that life is too short to not enjoy the work we do and how we do it.

Interactive Jury President

Ingo Fritz

Creative Director Interactive/Managing Partner

Nordpol+ Hamburg

Hamburg Germany

Born in Göttingen in 1973, working life for Ingo Fritz began immediately after successfully finishing grammar school. He started as a Commercial Artist in publishing. Then, in 1997, he suddenly changed track. He left northern Germany to study Business Economics in Würzburg, specialising in Information Management. He continued, however, working as an Online Art Director at the advertising agency Nordpol+ Hamburg.

With his business degree in his pocket, Ingo returned to the north to become Creative Director and Managing Partner of the freshly founded Nordpol+ Interaktiv Division in 2000.

Developing projects for clients like Sony, Renault and Asics Europe, he has won an array of national and international awards including seven Cyber Lions among others, and Nordpol+ Interaktiv Division has featured in the top ten German online agencies since 2003.

Ingo has been on the jury for international festivals such as Cannes Lions, Clio and the New York Festivals.

Direct Jury President

Fred Koblinger

CEO PKP Proximity & BBDO Holding Austria

PKP Proximity

Vienna Austria

Fred Koblinger finished his studies at the University of Economics in 1979. He then worked in Paris for the Austrian National Tourist Office in charge of marketing and sales promotion.

From 1982-1986 he was Managing Director of Interhome Austria, where he experienced the power of direct marketing.

After starting up Ogilvy&Mather Direct, he founded Palla, Koblinger & Partner in 1991, still today Austria’s number one relationship marketing agency with a strong focus on creativity (since 1992 consecutively no.1. at the National DM Awards, 15x Best of Europe, more than 10 Echo Awards, 4 Cannes Direct Lions).

After selling PKP to BBDO in 2000, Fred Koblinger was Co-Founder of the Proximity network (the agency name changed to PKP Proximity). As a Proximity worldwide board member he is responsible for creative standards of the group. In 2002 he also became CEO of BBDO Holding Austria.

His fight for integrated communication solutions – focusing on image and behaviour at the same time – was the success factor for PKP in Austria. 51 employees work at PKP for approximately 30 clients, mostly market leaders in Austria, including Mobilkom Austria, Toyota, Easybank, Austrian National Railways, Hewlett-Packard, Nestlé, Kurier, OMV and UNIQA.

Fred is undoubtedly a pioneer in direct marketing in Austria. In 2004, he was invited to the hall of fame of the Austrian Direct Marketing Association. He frequently speaks at worldwide marketing and advertising congresses and has been on the jury twice at Cannes Lions. In 2005 he was President of the Lions Direct jury.
